We were cornered and then trapped in a government housing compound.
Basically, the terrorists tried to catch us like a chicken in a coop. This is the best way I can put it.
We all were panic-stricken people (chickens) trying to escape from the terrorists, running in all directions in the compound.
The only way out was to climb up the 7ft high fence and jump over.
A few of us made it in the first round, but two sound grenades blasted off behind me while I waited for my turn. Thus, I had no choice but to continue with my marathon training.
Anyhow I made it out of the compound in the second round.
Sadly, one of us got shot five times with rubber bullets in the thigh while trying to climb up the fence and jump over (this one escaped, received medical treatment and is in a safe place now), and some landed ungracefully and were injured from the fall.
Three got reportedly arrested.
