The first ever book I read about Burma was the river of lost footsteps by Thant Myint-U. It was a gift from Ken but he wanted me to leave the book in the UK. The second was none other than letters from Burma, the collections of essays by the Lady. It’s her wittiness, senses of dry humour and touches of sarcasm, and her writing style that captivated me. I’d say for the appreciation of dry humours, her years in the UK were not wasted at all. Among her essays, communication is the one I like the best - it’s essential yet exhausting.
